About Live Lincoln Park

Live Lincoln Park is an independent guide to living in Lincoln Park, Chicago’s community area 7, from North Avenue to Diversey Parkway and from the Chicago River to the lake. It covers where to eat and shop, parks and the lakefront, schools, public services, events, getting around, and what it costs to live here.

What’s here

  • The complete guide and its pages on neighborhoods, schools, real estate, getting around, parks, history and the FAQ.
  • A directory of 249 places, from restaurants and shops to every Chicago Park District park in the neighborhood.
  • An events calendar and guides to the biggest annual events.
  • Articles on food, seasons, moving and the housing market.

How we research

  • Primary sources first. Facts come from official sources wherever possible: the City of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District, the CTA, the U.S. Census Bureau, and each business’s or organizer’s own website.
  • Sources on the page. Every guide, article and listing ends with the sources it relies on, so you can check them.
  • Dated and rechecked. Pages show when they were last updated. Events, hours and listings are rechecked every month, and places that close are marked closed rather than quietly removed.
  • No guessing. If a fact can’t be confirmed, we leave it out or say it isn’t announced yet.

Independence

Listings are not paid placements, and businesses can’t buy a spot or a better description. The guide carries no ads or affiliate links. Places are included because they’re in Lincoln Park and useful to people who live here or are thinking about it.

Corrections and suggestions

Spot something out of date, know a place we’re missing, or have an event to add? Tell us. Corrections are made as soon as they’re confirmed.
