St. James Lutheran School

St. James Lutheran School is a Christian preschool through 8th grade school at 2101 N Fremont St, at Dickens and Fremont in Lincoln Park. It is affiliated with St. James Lutheran Church (Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod).

The school was started in 1857 by German immigrants and says it is the oldest continuously operating school in Chicago; it has been at its current corner since 1905. Programs include a preschool with five early-childhood classrooms, an elementary program for grades 1–4 and a departmentalized middle school, plus athletics and fine arts.
