Lincoln Park’s restaurants cover nearly every craving in a few square miles: caramelized-crust deep dish and late-night hot dogs, Greek tavernas, Korean tacos, tapas, oysters and two restaurants with a star in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide (Boka and Galit). This guide sorts all 27 restaurants in our restaurant directory by cuisine, with addresses and signature dishes. We confirmed each was operating in October 2026.
Chicago classics: deep dish, hot dogs and Italian beef
If you’re showing visitors “Chicago food,” start with these four.
- Pequod’s Pizza (2207 N. Clybourn Ave.) is known for its pan pizza, with a ring of mozzarella that caramelizes against the pan into a crisp, dark crust. It’s open until 2 a.m. most nights, and the restaurant strongly recommends reservations.
- The Wiener’s Circle (2622 N. Clark St.) is a late-night hot dog stand famous for staff who trade insults with customers. Get a Chicago-style dog “with everything,” charred or steamed, plus cheddar fries.
- Chicago’s Dog House (816 W. Fullerton Ave., at Lincoln) pairs classic Chicago dogs with game sausages such as alligator, rattlesnake and wild boar. It’s a small counter spot near DePaul that stays open late.
- Johnny’s Beef & Gyros (2300 N. Lincoln Ave.) serves Italian beef dry, juicy or dipped, with sweet peppers or giardiniera, plus gyros and char-burgers.
Pizza
For thin crust, tavern-cut or wood-fired pies, try these.
- Ranalli’s Pizza Bar (1925 N. Lincoln Ave.) is a thin-crust pizza and sports bar with a big patio. The Hot Honey Soppressata is its top seller online.
- Homeslice (938 W. Webster Ave.) serves tavern-style pepperoni and mozzarella bread sticks, with a patio, near the Sheffield and DePaul blocks.
- La Crosta Woodfire Pizzeria Italiana (2360 N. Lincoln Ave.) bakes Neapolitan-style pies in a wood-fired oven. Order the Margherita or the truffle burrata pizza.
Italian
- Pasta Palazzo (1966 N. Halsted St.) is a small, casual pasta spot. Its most-ordered dishes are cavatappi pollo and penne Bolognese.
- DeNucci’s (503 W. Dickens Ave.) opened in 2023 with New York-style pies and red-sauce classics such as artichoke vesuvio and veal Marsala. It serves dinner only, from 4:30 p.m.
Greek and Mediterranean
- Avli Taverna (1335 W. Wrightwood Ave., at Wayne) is a sit-down Greek taverna. Regulars order the zucchini chips, saganaki and souvlaki, and it serves brunch on weekends.
- Kala Modern Greek (2523 N. Clark St.) is fast-casual Greek, with souvlaki, chicken or steak bowls and skewer plates. Save room for frozen yogurt with loukoumades.
Middle Eastern
Galit (2429 N. Lincoln Ave.) holds one star in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide. Chef Zachary Engel, a James Beard Award winner, runs a prix-fixe menu where you choose your own dishes. The hummus, including the masabacha and the brisket hummus, is the reason to go. It’s closed Mondays.
Korean
Del Seoul (2568 N. Clark St.) is a counter-service spot for Korean street food. The kalbi beef taco and the sesame-chili shrimp taco are the best-known orders, with kimchi fries on the side.
Japanese and sushi
Sushi-San (1950 N. Halsted St.) is the Lincoln Park branch of the Chicago sushi bar. Try the umami scallop hand roll, the maki or a bluefin tuna “San-Set” such as Mr. Maguro.
Spanish tapas
Café Ba-Ba-Reeba! (2024 N. Halsted St.) has served tapas and pintxos since 1985. Paella and sangria are its signatures, and weekend brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Seafood
- Briny Swine Smokehouse & Oyster Bar (2577 N. Clark St., at Wrightwood) came here from Edisto Beach, South Carolina. It serves freshly shucked oysters alongside Carolina-style barbecue and Lowcountry dishes.
- Parson’s Chicken & Fish (2435 N. Halsted St.) does fried chicken, fried fish and hush puppies, washed down with its well-known Negroni slushies.
American and New American
Sit-down neighborhood spots
- R.J. Grunts (2056 N. Lincoln Park West) has been open since 1971, near the zoo. It’s known for char-broiled burgers, including the Gruntburger, and a build-your-own salad bar.
- Gemini (2075 N. Lincoln Ave.) is a neighborhood American restaurant. Order the G Burger or Bill’s Caesar, and come for brunch on weekends.
- Summer House Santa Monica (1954 N. Halsted St.) serves bright California-style food: Caesar salad, potato-salad deviled eggs and treats from the bakery case.
- Lincoln Park Corner Kitchen (2200 N. Clybourn Ave., at Webster) serves breakfast all day and comfort food such as chicken pot pie. It’s BYOB with no corkage fee and offers free valet parking.
- The Lakefront Restaurant (2401 N. Lake Shore Dr.) sits inside Theater on the Lake at Fullerton and serves Midwestern dishes. Its seasonal Skyline Patio overlooks the lake.
Counter service, chicken and sandwiches
- Fry the Coop (2404 N. Lincoln Ave.) makes Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and tenders. Its heat scale tops out at a ghost-pepper level.
- The Fat Shallot (2468 N. Clark St.) is a sandwich counter known for its truffle BLT and buffalo chicken sandwich. It’s closed Mondays.
- North Buena Deli & Wine (345 W. Armitage Ave.) makes deli sandwiches such as The Italian and the house NBM, and sells wine. It’s open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and it’s a good first stop on our Armitage Avenue walk.
Fine dining
- Boka (1729 N. Halsted St.) holds one star in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide. Executive chef Lee Wolen serves an à la carte menu and an eight-course tasting menu ($195 as of October 2026). Roasted dry-aged duck and black truffle chicken are the standouts. It serves dinner only.
- North Pond (2610 N. Cannon Dr.) sits inside the park at the edge of the pond. It serves a six-course seasonal tasting menu Thursday through Sunday and a three-course Sunday brunch, by reservation only.
For drinks before or after dinner, browse bars and nightlife. If you’re new to the neighborhood, the sub-neighborhoods guide shows where each of these streets sits, and getting around covers parking and the ‘L’.
