Todd Snyder Chicago, called The Townhouse, is the New York menswear designer’s Chicago store at 815 W. Armitage Ave., just west of Halsted Street on the Armitage shopping strip. Rothy’s and Levain Bakery are on the same block.
What it’s known for
The store opened in 2023 as the brand’s first in Chicago. Todd Snyder founded the label in 2011, and it is owned by American Eagle Outfitters. A WWD report republished by American Eagle in April 2023 says the store fills the ground floor of an 1877 Victorian brick townhouse in the Armitage-Halsted Historic District, which has pressed-metal cornices and ornate original window details. The interior was inspired by Snyder’s Liquor Store shop in Tribeca. It has olive-painted board-and-batten walls, chevron hardwood floors and a built-in bar with brass-accented vitrines and marble counters.
The store carries Snyder’s soft tailoring, workwear and streetwear. When it opened, it also stocked collaborations and outside brands such as Champion, New Balance, Alden and Bennett Winch, plus vintage watches from Foundwell. Custom and made-to-measure suits are available.
