Abraham Lincoln Elementary School

Abraham Lincoln Elementary is a Chicago Public Schools (CPS) neighborhood school at 615 W Kemper Pl in the east side of Lincoln Park. It serves kindergarten through 8th grade (no pre-K) and listed 862 students on its CPS profile in October 2026. School hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

CPS describes a humanities-based curriculum with school-wide arts integration and specialized programs in French, music, art and instrumental band; French is listed as its world language. The building also hosts the K–8 grades of EFAC (the French-American program of Chicago), which says it runs the French Ministry of Education’s curriculum integrated within CPS.

Admissions: children who live in Lincoln’s attendance area can enroll directly in the general program. Families from outside the area can apply to its open-enrollment program through GoCPS, a lottery with sibling and staff priority; CPS reported 290 applicants and 0 offers in the previous cycle.

The CPS profile showed an accountability status of “Good Standing” as of October 2026. Test results, enrollment detail and the state summative designation are published on the Illinois Report Card. See the CPS school profile for current programs and admissions, and our Lincoln Park schools guide for how attendance areas and GoCPS work.
