Lincoln Park is mostly homes, not hotels, so the choice is small. Three places to stay are inside the neighborhood: the 184-room Hotel Lincoln across from the park’s south end, the 14-suite Neighborhood Hotel on Clark Street, and the Villa D’Citta bed and breakfast on Halsted. Two more boutique hotels sit just over the northern edge, near Clark and Diversey. This guide compares all five from our hotels and places to stay directory, suggests which fits which kind of trip, and explains how to get here from O’Hare and Midway on the CTA.

Hotels inside Lincoln Park
- Hotel Lincoln (1816 N. Clark St.) is the neighborhood’s one full-service hotel. It is a 1920s building across from the south end of the park, steps from the Chicago History Museum, and part of Hyatt’s JdV collection. Its 13th-floor rooftop, The J. Parker, looks out over the park and Lake Michigan and is open year-round. Elaine’s Coffee Call off the lobby serves breakfast and coffee. The hotel is pet-friendly (with weight limits and a fee), has valet and self parking and a fitness center, and is within about a mile of Lincoln Park Zoo, North Avenue Beach and Old Town.
- The Neighborhood Hotel (2616 N. Clark St.) has 14 suites with one to three bedrooms in an 1893 building between Wrightwood and Diversey. Every suite has a full kitchen and an in-unit washer and dryer, which makes it the best fit here for families and stays of a week or more. Some suites take dogs for a fee. Know before you book: there is no front desk or on-site staff (entry instructions come by email), and the building has no elevator.
- Villa D’Citta (2230 N. Halsted St.) is a bed and breakfast in an 1887 greystone with eight themed rooms and suites, a rooftop deck with a hot tub and fire pit, and a brick courtyard with a grill. Continental breakfast is served daily, with a hot dish added on weekends, and the whole house can be rented for groups. Weekend and holiday stays may have a two- to four-night minimum. Street parking on Halsted is not guaranteed; garage parking costs extra.
Just over the line: Clark and Diversey
Both of these sit a few minutes’ walk north of the neighborhood, close to the Diversey Harbor lakefront and the north end of the park.
- Hotel Versey (644 W. Diversey Pkwy.) is a 137-room boutique hotel in the 1920s Diversey Arms building, where Clark, Diversey and Broadway meet on the Lincoln Park–Lakeview border. Its design leans on Chicago’s jazz and rock history (jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke once lived in the building).
- The Willows Hotel (555 W. Surf St.) is a 55-room hotel on a residential side street in Lakeview East, with a French-country look, a fireplace lobby and an original 1920s Otis elevator. The zoo is about a mile south.

Getting here from O’Hare and Midway
Lincoln Park has no direct airport train, but both airports connect to it on the CTA with one transfer downtown. Plan on roughly an hour to an hour and 15 minutes door to door from O’Hare, less from Midway.
From O’Hare
- Blue Line, then Brown Line: take the Blue Line (it runs 24 hours) about 40 to 45 minutes to Clark/Lake, then transfer to a northbound Brown Line train to Sedgwick (for Hotel Lincoln), Armitage, Fullerton or Diversey.
- Blue Line, then Red Line: stay on the Blue Line to Jackson and use the pedestrian tunnel to the Red Line, then ride north to North/Clybourn or Fullerton. The Red Line also runs 24 hours, which makes this the late-night option.
- Fare: a ride starting at O’Hare costs $5; the transfer downtown is included. Regular CTA train fares are $2.50.
From Midway
- Take the Orange Line about 20 to 25 minutes downtown. Transfer to the Brown Line at a Loop station such as Clark/Lake, or to the Red Line at Roosevelt, and ride north. The Orange Line does not run overnight.
- The standard $2.50 fare applies from Midway.
Once you arrive, our getting around guide covers the L stations, bus routes and Divvy bikes inside the neighborhood.
