Lincoln Park’s best coffee shops fall into three groups: cafes built for lingering, such as Colectivo on Clark Street and the Bourgeois Pig on Fullerton; bakery cafes that pair espresso with house-made bread and pastry, such as Dorothy’s Bakery and Floriole; and doughnut shops on Armitage Avenue that open at 7 a.m. Below are 11 spots from our coffee and bakeries directory, each picked for what it is known for, with hours checked on the shop’s own site in October 2026 where it posts them.

Cafes for sitting a while
If you want a seat, a long stay or a patio, these four are the neighborhood’s sit-down coffee shops.
- Colectivo Coffee (2530 N. Clark St.) was the Milwaukee roaster’s first Chicago cafe. It sits near North Pond, has big storefront windows and a covered patio with an outdoor fire pit, and is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. You can order ahead in the Colectivo app.
- The Bourgeois Pig Cafe (738 W. Fullerton Ave.) opened in 1993 a few blocks from DePaul University. It fills two side-by-side Victorian row houses with seating on two levels, shelves of books, fireplaces and a shaded patio. Sandwiches and salads are named after books and plays, and breakfast is served all day. We couldn’t confirm current hours on its own site, so call or check a map listing first.
- Cafe Yaya (2431 N. Lincoln Ave.) is the cafe sibling of Galit, right next door. By day it serves house-made pastries, many Middle Eastern-inspired, and specialty coffee; later it turns to Mediterranean and French plates with wine and cocktails. Its site lists hours of 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with no Monday hours posted.
- Paper Tiger Café (628 W. Webster Ave.) is a coffee shop and bakery in the eastern part of the neighborhood, a short walk from the park. It’s open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and The Infatuation points to specialty drinks such as a lavender-lemon iced latte and frozen matcha.

Bakery cafes: coffee with fresh bread and pastry
Several of Lincoln Park’s best cups come with a pastry case, and a few of these bakers got their start at Green City Market.
- Dorothy’s Bakery (2318 N. Clark St.) is the first storefront for a bakery that sold at Green City Market as Flat & Point before becoming Dorothy’s. Its daily lineup includes Miche, Black Rye and Polenta sourdough loaves, bagels, bagel sandwiches and croissants, and it serves espresso drinks. It’s open daily, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed on major holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- The Bagelers Coffeehouse (2461 N. Lincoln Ave.) makes kettle-boiled bagels with a firm crust and soft middle, plus house cream cheeses, including a giardiniera spread. Time Out describes a husband-and-wife team pouring locally roasted Ipsento coffee. Published hours differ between sources, so check before a late visit.
- Floriole Cafe & Bakery (1220 W. Webster Ave.) is chef-owner Sandra Holl’s French-inspired bakery, which started as a Green City Market stand. The case holds croissants, tarts and sourdough made with seasonal Midwestern ingredients, along with sandwiches, desserts and coffee.
- Klein’s Bakery & Cafe (1134 W. Armitage Ave.) has been baking since 2017 and makes American and Venezuelan baked goods from scratch, such as ham-and-cheese cachitos and golfeado, a cinnamon pastry with white cheese. Espresso drinks are on the menu.
- Levain Bakery (849 W. Armitage Ave.) opened in November 2025 as the New York bakery’s third Chicago shop. It is famous for its six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie and also pours coffee, espresso drinks and cold brew. Its page lists hours of 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the latest coffee-and-pastry stop on this list.
Doughnuts and coffee on Armitage
Armitage Avenue has two doughnut shops with very different styles, both with morning-only hours.
- Beacon Doughnuts (810 W. Armitage Ave.; enter through the alley) sells hand-made doughnuts and coffee, with a rotating list that in October 2026 included pumpkin spice, apple cider and a vanilla bean cronut. Hours are 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends. It closes when it sells out, so it suggests preordering, which you can do up to three days ahead.
- Daly’s Donuts (659 W. Armitage Ave.) bakes its doughnuts instead of frying them. The owners built the business on a family cinnamon sugar recipe and grew it at Green City Market before the Armitage shop opened in March 2026. Flavors include cinnamon sugar, chocolate churro and maple glaze. Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends; it’s closed Monday and Tuesday.
Both make an easy first stop on our Armitage Avenue walking guide, and Levain and Klein’s are on the same stretch.
