The program runs in stages: Montessori from pre-K (full day for 4-year-olds) through 3rd grade, an intermediate program in grades 4–5 that blends Montessori and International Baccalaureate approaches, and the IB Middle Years Programme in grades 6–8. All students take music, art, Spanish, library and PE. CPS lists specialty certifications in Montessori Early Childhood, Montessori Elementary I and IB MYP.
Admissions: CPS classifies both of Mayer’s K–8 programs as “magnet with boundary,” meaning the school has a local attendance area plus lottery seats through GoCPS. See the CPS school profile for current programs and admissions, and our Lincoln Park schools guide for how attendance areas and GoCPS work.
